August Update: Texas is still hotter

Tokyo is still pretty hot though You know, everyone kept warning me about Tokyo summers. The horror, the heat, the humidity. You’ll never survive, you’ll never recover, it’s the worst in the world… which it’s not pleasant. I certainly could do without the oppressive weight of air that contains more water than oxygen.

However, it’s nothing compared to growing up with +40C and 70% humidity in east Texas. So I’ll take that as a win.

That being said, I still feel like it’s been a slow month, despite how busy I’ve been. Probably the most fun thing I’ve done this month is joined a Taiko school! Look at my beautiful drums. Aren’t they pretty~

I go once a week and take out all my frustrations on these bad boys. I don’t know anything more satisfying…

Except maybe publishing my new book!

August Publications

That’s right everyone, the wait is over and The Spaces Between is live and available for purchase on Kindle as well as a paperback on Amazon. You can grab your copy here!

Other publications this month include Scraps and Slaps! It’s live on Itch.io and will likewise soon be available on DriveThruRPG.

I had another supplement slated for publication this month, but surprise surprise a TTRPG magazine scooped it up! It will be available in the coming months, and I’ll share more details after the final draft has been accepted.

Other Works

Some other things I’ve been up to in the professional sphere includes joining an organization called Tokyo Game Bridge! Heeding the call for volunteers, yours truly swooped in and has been making plans and helping in the ways I can with my past experience working for a nonprofit. The work is time consuming, but genuinely enjoyable. Next month we’ll be hosting our biggest event ever in tandem with Tokyo Game Show, which I will also be attending as a representative for In Silico!

Stay tuned for more info on Tokyo Game Show and Tokyo Game Bridge next month!

I have a lot of things in the work behind the scenes right now, and it’s looking like the year is going to end with a bang. Be sure to subscribe to my substack here so you don’t miss future updates!

Until next time!
